A beautiful place to stay, very comfortable and immaculately clean. You felt as though you were a guest in someone's home. Every thought was given to their guests needs. The food was wonderful and Katerina and Charles were excellent hosts. Would love to stay there again.

Tips:

It was an easy stroll into town where there were lots of eating places to choose from. The local museum, which was free, was absolutely fascinating and well worth a visit. The Jacobite Train was a delight to travel on and the area was beautiful.

We only spent two nights at Westcourt, but even in that small amount of time, we grew very fond of it. Everything is clean and beautiful. Our favourite things were: the more than amazing breakfast, the bathtub, the soaps and it's location. You only need to take a few steps to be down at the loch. Our hosts were always kind and happy ro help, so thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

Tips:

If you are on a tighter budget like us, then we can recommend the local Wetherspoon. And if you are at Fort Willim, you absolutely must travel with the Jacobite steam train (especially if you are a Harry Potter fan like us). At Westcourt, we recommend you try the kipper for breakfast. It is delicious.

A very warm and friendly welcome from the owners on arrival. We were shown to a beautiful room with stunning views of loch and mountains. Great breakfast, lots of choice and plenty of it. Charles and Katarina were very helpful about where to eat and places to go and see and thank you for the anniversary cakes - lovely. Our stay at Westcourt couldn't have been better.

Tips:

A trip on the steam train from Fort William to Mallaig is a must or just a visit to the station to see the steam engines. A walkers paradise, from mountains to rivers and glens. A meal or a drink at the Nevis Inn shouldn't be missed, excellent food and amazing views. If you like Indian food then a visit to the Spice Tandoori on the main street is recommended. The Corran, just outside Fort William is also a place to go.

This is a lovely place to stay and Charles and Katarina are so helpful. The room was on the small side (with a lovely large en-suite) but had everything you could possibly need, with fresh towels, made up bed and biscuits every day. It is just outside of town.. a few minutes walk which is absolutely perfect as there is a great view of the Loch and it is nice and quiet. I would definitely stay her again and refer friends too. Only one niggle is that the room didn't have black out curtains and the sun rises pretty early there!

Tips:

Although we at first thought of walking Ben Nevis we ended up hiring bikes from the High Street. My hubby had an MTB and I hired and electric MTB so we were well suited. We really covered a lot of mileage and saw a great deal of the surrounding area, on quiet roads, cycle paths, trails and some single track. The weather was amazing and it was a great day spent in Fort William.

An excellent B&B in Fort William with very friendly and welcoming host and hostess. Our room was large, extremely comfortable, immaculate and spotless. Breakfast was the best cooked and presented during 9 days of driving the North Coast 500. Thank you Charles and I would strongly recommend this B&B to any person contemplating staying in Fort William

Lovely spacious room with great view. Big bathroom with huge tub. Charles and Katerina made us feel very welcome. Charles is a great local guide and host. The breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. Really nice little touches with the toiletries and a surprise afternoon cake delivered to our room.

Tips:

The Garrison West is a modern gastropub with good food, cocktails and whisky choice. The Tavern Inn was a good, more traditional pub and we ate a fantastic meal at the Crannog, a seafood restaurant that's worth booking a table for. We took a planned trip on the Jacobite Steam Train up to Mallaig and also walked to Neptune's Stairs (about a 5 mile round trip). Beautiful scenery wherever you looked!

From the outset we were treated to a very warm welcome as guests in Charles and Katarina's beautiful home. They could not have been more helpful and they made our visit extra special with cake to welcome us home every afternoon. The breakfasts were delicious with an excellent choice and when we were there Katarina also included easter cakes and easter eggs for us to take away. The bedrooms were imaculate, and we had everything we needed from hairdryer to luxurious bathroom essentials (even makeup remover facewipes). Our bedroom also had stunning views over the loch. We would highly recommend Westcourt.

Tips:

The Guest House is only a 10 minute stroll to the town centre. An excellent Fish Restaurant is only 5 minutes walk along the loch and there are many attractions all within 10 - 15 minutes drive away. Our visit included the Jacobite Steam Train to Mallaig (over the Glenfinnan (Harry Potter) viaduct). The station is at the far side of town about 20 minutes walk from the Guest House.

Tips:

Jacobite steam train to Mallaig or any of the stops on route eg Arisaig. Watch out for wildlife - we saw an eagle, a dolphin and seal. Crannog cruise looked good though we didn't have time to try out. Loved unusual specialist shops eg Highland Soap, try Grog and Gruel ale house on high Street and hot meat deli takeaway. Lovely place to stay. We had a sea view, only downfall is you are on a main road and you can hear the traffic go by if you have the window open. We are used to this so it didn't bother us. Charles was great at giving us info on touristy things and also pointed out places on a map. Breakfast was great, continental followed by a varied menu and also a pot of yogurt with honey and fruit, tea, coffee, croissant and toast, so plenty to set you up for the day. Plenty off street parking too. I would definitely go back.

Tips:

Westcourt is a 15 min walk to the train station, as we went on the steam train across the Harry Potter bridge lovely views through Fort William to Mallaig. Highly recommended. Great place for walker etc.

Tips:

Plenty of great pubs and restaurants for all manners of tastes, steam trains to Mallaig and the scenic west highland line towards Glasgow too.

Our stay at Westcourt was luxurious, we were made to feel as part of the family from the moment we arrived. The house was truly stunning and Charles and Katarina went that extra mile to make our stay a break to remember. Breakfast was a full Scottish breakfast to set you up for the day and the service was excellent. Katarina would clean the room while you were out and when we came back there were 2 gorgeous slices of chocolate cake, served up on a beautiful tray waiting for us in the room, not to mention the exquisite iced fruit buns that were served to us on arrival. The room was luxurious and the spa bath was fantastic after a day of shopping and dining. The sea view from our room was breath taking and the house from top to bottom was exquisitely furnished and decorated beautifully. It was a real pleasure to stay there and Charles and Katarina were so gracious as your hosts. They really do open their beautiful house up to you. I can't praise the owners, house or cleanliness and attention to detail highly enough. I would recommend anyone to stay there.

Tips:

We drove down to the local shops, literally a 2 min drive or if weather nice a 5-10 min walk. The shops were everything from quirky to fashionable and sold beautiful jewellery, art, nicknaks or just about anything you are looking for. There is also a local Morrissons. We visited Ben Nevis Gondolas, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Neptune's Stairs, all of which had lovely visitors centre's and if you are looking for pub food, witherspoons or fine dining, it has it all.

Watching 2 steam trains cross the Glenfinnan viaduct standing at viewpoints below and above the viaduct between 3:15 and 3:45 pm is another memorable experience.

27th August 2014:

I am an absent-minded professor who booked three rooms for the wrong date, and surprised the Westcourt hosts when showing up. They responded by making their single open room available, and then going to considerable effort to locate other lodgings for us. Their warmth and kindness could not be surpassed, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

9th June 2014:

The rooms were spacious, immaculately furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent with loads of choice. All of this was surpassed only by our gracious hosts who really now how to make you feel at home. The B&B is only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Fort William and the view over Loch Linnhe from the house is stunning. We'll be returning to Scotland and will most definitely be staying at the Westcourt again. I couldn't recommend it higher - 10 out of 10.

Tips:

Good food upstairs in the Grog and Gruel pub, and they also serve non-mainstream beers which are very tasty.

1st June 2014:

This place is fantastic , the owners are warm and friendly and it is only a five minute walk to town and breakfast is very very good , but the full Scottish was a bit clinical but very tasty

Tips:

Room 5 is fab , nice big jacuzzi bath to relax in , you pay a bit more but worth it and a nice view of the loch , the Ben Nevis pub for eating ( upstairs ) and drinking is good

The accommodation was immaculate and the decor and design of the b&b was beautiful, felt like we were in a hotel. Thank you once again for a lovely stay.
