4th September 2018:

The four-poster room was spacious and a wonderful place to dry out, warm up and relax after a day of mountain biking. Breakfasts were delicious and Norman was an engaging host. We were very happy with our three nights here.

Tips:

We had a very good meal at the Lochy pub in nearby Caol one night. In Fort William, the Lime Tree restaurant was excellent. A booking was needed there.

Stayed for 3 nights in summer in 4-poster room. 'Room' is an understatement - it's very big, plus a large en-suite bathroom. Very friendly proprietors. Breakfasts great...lasted me all day! Off-road car parking. Only 10 minutes from Fort William. All in all excellent!

Thank you for making us so welcome in your beautiful home. We had a wonderful stay, we all just wished it could have been for longer! Our room was stunning and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was perfect especially the hand-picked garden raspberries!

Tips:

Wonderful location as your close enough to Fort William to get into town easily but without the disruption of town noise etc. We chose to stay here as the last part of our Highlands holiday and our trip on the Jacobite Train which was fantastic. We ate in town and can highly recommend the Grog & Gruel for family friendly meals and hospitality.Fort William is friendly and we loved our time here.

Very warm welcome the essence of which lasted throughout our stay. Host was very accommodating facilitating a very early breakfast one morning. Great spot for outdoor activities and again host Norman has a very good knowledge of local pursuits and indeed advise when weather conditions may present a challenge. In summary really enjoyable stay.

Tips:

Ideal base for outdoor pursuits, walking, cycling , climbing etc. Fort William is a nice little town with an interesting history. Good shopping facilities including supermarkets. All good apart from one meal at the Mango Cafe, Indian resteraunt. Apauling food, exorbitant price for what was no better than a ready meal.

Very comfortable large room with spacious ensuite, excellent breakfast. Mixer tap over bath needs some attention. TV would be better on table/stand at lower level, but not really an issue whilst on holiday.

Tips:

FW has good range of eating places. Indian restaurant recommended. Access to walking brilliant with massive range of alternatives within easy reach.

We felt absolutely welcome at this place. The rooms were lovely decorated, breakfast was the best we had on our whole trip, and Norman was a great host. The place was a bit further away from Fort William than we expected. However the homemade shortbread that we found in our room made up for this! It always felt like coming home.

The photos on the website looked amazing, but seeing the guest house and rooms was just amazing. Norman was a great host and cooked up a wonderful breakfast which set us off well on our way up Ben Nevis.

Tips:

There is a restaurant called Crannog in Fort William overlooking the Loch - excellent food but very very popular so you need to book in advance!

7th August 2017:

We loved that they had their own chickens and all fresh food was locally sourced. Our bedroom was over looking the loch and the Nevis Range which was a beautiful sight to see every morning. The owners were cautious about our safety when climbing Ben Nevis and asked us what route we were doing, to leave our mobile numbers with them and tell them when we made it down again.

Tips:

It's not in fort William town centre but about 10-15 minute drive. We preferred this as it was much quieter! There's s little coop down the road if you need to top up on snacks for your hikes. We'd recommend the fish restaurant Crannog in fort William on the water. Little bit more expensive, but worth every penny.

We enjoyed the very good designe of the rooms, especially of the bathrooms. Also, there was much space and good furniture. The breakfast was done very lovingly. And the owner gave us helpful advices.

Tips:

If you are interested in old railways, you can ride from Fort William to Mallaig with the Jacobite Steam Train. And don't miss Glenfinnan Viadukt and Loch Shiel.

Very cosy with a family atmosphere. Especially Norman is a great guy. He was very helpful, kind and has a great humor. We had a big and calm room. Self backed biscuits, lovely! Great breakfast, for example smoked salmon, porridge with whisky ;-)

Tips:

"The Lochy" next to the Banavie Station is very good, very kind staff, family atmosphere. Just straight along the canal, 20 minutes. Glen Nevis with the Waterfalls. Steamtrain to Mallaig.

2nd July 2017:

Located in a house full of character but with excellent modern facilities, only to name a roomy and well equipped en-suite bathroom. Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, friendly landlord. The only disadvantage we found is that there are no decent pubs or restaurants nearby, so one always has to take the car and go to Fort William for dinner.

Tips:

If you want to eat out at Fort William it is of advantage to arrive quite early to find a table. Reservations are often not taken, you have to turn up and will be put on a waiting list for a later return. A must is a trip on the Jacobite Express between Fort William and Mallaig which passes Kilmalyn on the opposite side of the main street. We also recommend to go to Glenfinnan monument and the viaduct, for an afternoon coffee or tea the dining car at Glenfinnan station can be recommended.

Great room, nice furniture with enough space for us and our son. Nice bathroom with a large shower. Jillian and Norman, you are nice and friendly hosts and the breakfast was delicious. If we come to Scotland and the region again, we will come back.

Tips:

Great starting point for the route to Mallaig, only disadvantage is the lack of restaurants in walking distance. The better restaurants in Ft. William should be pre-booked even on weekdays, the one that are not booked.....

We've never stayed in a nicer B&B. The room was amazing, the owner was very friendly and welcoming. The food was great. I'd strongly recommend this place

Tips:

There are lots of B&Bs in the area but this one would be very hard to beat. Especially if you book the suite with the 4 poster bed- amazing room and very cool bathroom.
