This is 5 star accommodation - friendly welcome; very helpful ideas and maps for what to do; idyllic setting on loch shore; beautiful house and rooms to highest standards; breakfast absolutely delicious. Attention to detail is evident in all areas. Amazing place to stay - we will definitely be back

Tips:

We ate in the Clan MacDuff - good food and just 2 minutes walk! The Jacobite Steam Train is a must - fabulous experience and amazing scenery!

1st July 2019:

Rooms beautifully decorated. The food was amazing and the hosts are very helpful and have a wonderful selection of books and DVDs. The Bathrooms are beautiful!!!! Rooms got a little hot and not sure if we could leave windows open too long due to midges. Perhaps a ceiling fan would help.

Tips:

Steal Falls hike not difficult and well worth the effort with the views etc. If you like steam trains or Harry Potter the Jacobite Rail is good but be warned it is a long time on the train and can be very warm on a warm day. Crannog and Macduffs both excellent food.

Huntingtower Lodge provides luxury, relaxed elegant accommodation. The Loch View Room was expansive, comfortable, stylish, extremely well appointed with a delightful view over the garden and loch. Easy chairs by the picture window made for a relaxing space. It was also a bonus to find this room on the ground floor! Peter and Tina are charming hosts. Peter has a wealth of knowledge of the local area to share and Tina’s breakfasts are a highlight. Absolutely recommend.

Peter and Tina are excellent hosts running a very good B&B. The house has great views over the loch to the front and an interesting walk up the hill behind through woodland which has a SSI designation. The rooms are well furnished and the breakfast is plentiful and beautifully prepared. If we are staying in the area again this would be our first choice for accommodation!

Tips:

We had a good evening meal at The Geographer in Fort William. It was very busy so book ahead if you can.

29th June 2019:

We were looking for a relaxing, romantic weekend as a start to our vacation in Great Britain, and we could not have found a more perfect place than the Huntingtower Lodge. The Waterfall Suite was so spacious- more like an entire apartment with separate living room, and cozy under the eaves but with lots of natural light from the gorgeous front windows overlooking the loch and the view of the beautiful waterfall out back. The decor was modern and the room immaculately clean. We appreciated the mini-fridge stocked with a pitcher of fresh milk for tea and hot cocoa in the room, and showers in the amazing bathroom after a long hike were wonderful. The breakfasts were delicious- Tina is a gifted cook! And Peter is the perfect host, serving and dispensing weather reports and advice for the day’s activities without being at all obtrusive. We had arrived with Ben Nevis being our only plan, and he recommended a lovely drive and wonderful loop hike in Glen Coe for our other days in Fort William, complete with detailed maps for us to bring along. The lodge is so peaceful- it’s so pleasant and quiet that our stay here just felt extremely restful, for body and spirit! We were so glad we’d chosen to spend several days here- it turned out to be the highlight of an altogether wonderful week exploring Great Britain!

An absolutely fantastic boutique B&B. We were honestly reluctant to leave at the end of our 3 day stay in June. Tina and Peter are perfect hosts providing all sorts of delightful touches to compliment already flawless service; tea and cake on arrival, binoculars at all of the windows overlooking the loch and surrounding countryside, even a dram of whisky to compliment the morning porridge. Heartily recommended.

18th June 2019:

Huntingtower Lodge was perfect in every respect. The welcome provided by Peter & Tina Moss, the quality, design and comfort of the living, bedroom and bathroom spaces were all outstandingly good. The breakfast menu was suitably broad and included some interesting regional choices as well as the traditional full Scottish breakfast and porridge. Tina is an excellent cook and the breakfasts testified to this each morning. The porridge was reminiscent of the delicious texture my Mam cooked for me each morning as a youngster, but with something extra! The optional fresh cream and wee dram of single malt transformed, for me, the culinary delights of porridge.

Tips:

Peter's practical knowledge of the area is extensive and visitiors should avail themselves of this to maximise their time in the area. Whether its hill walking or a cultural visit, he'll readily provide advice, guidance, routes and maps. Huntingtower's website is comprehensively good, very clear and easy to access. Be certain to check out the links to other websites. The documentary information in the rooms has a range of information including a wide selection of restaurants. For those who prefer not to drive for dinner at the end of the day, the Clan Macduff Hotel 300 yards from Huntingtower is a great place, and food and beer is very reasonably priced. Take some time to observe the countless species of birds visiting the bird tables from the light and airy breakfast lounge. It's also a relaxing space to browse the good selection of books and magazines as well as enjoying the panoramic views over Loch Linnhe.

We had a wonderful time at Huntingtower Lodge. Tina and Peter were very welcoming. Peter was very helpful, providing maps and ideas on places to visit. The breakfast prepared by Tina was delicious and healthy. We stayed in the Waterfall Suite, which was absolutely marvelous, with a view on the lake. Our room was comfortable and very clean. This place is just amazing!

Peter and Tina are the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble and Peter doubles as a tour guide, providing us with detailed maps for day tours in the car. Excellent all round.

Tips:

Ask Peter for guidance on what to do, he knows the area well and can advise on the weather forecast and how to factor it into your plans. Breakfast was a delight, try some of the tasty options on offer! We ate our dinners at the Clan Macduff hotel just along the road from Huntingtower Lodge, and we enjoyed all of our meals there and you can walk (or stagger) back to your room if you fancy a drink or two.

Breakfast was made beautifully to order....I would highly recommend Huntingtower Lodge.

We had a fantastic stay at Huntingtower Lodge! From our welcome with tea and cake to our fabulous breakfasts, and the valuable advice from Peter, I don’t know how our stay could have been better! Our room was large, bright and cheery and so comfortable. We highly recommend a stay here.

Tips:

We would highly recommend hiking in Glen Coe and Glen Nevis. Peter will be happy to help with maps and directions. The only downside is for those who don’t have a car, it is almost 2 miles from the town of Fort William. So going into town for restaurants, shopping, etc. could be a bit of a challenge. Also, we had great meals at the Lime Tree and Crannog’s Seafood and would highly recommend both of those.

Wonderful place, lovely location beautiful gardens with a waterfall. Just across from the Loch which we went paddleboarding on. The Waterfall suite was fabulous lovely sitting room overlooking the Loch, massive bedroom with a very comfortable bed plus ensuite bathroom and nice large walk in shower, plus a separate dressing room with lots of space for clothes. Nice fridge to keep the wine cool and kettle and fresh milk for a nice brew. Breakfast was delicious you need lots of days to try all the choice's. Peter and Tina are excellent hosts willing to help out any way they can. Plenty of ideas for places to visit and eat at.

Everything was absolutely marvelous from the size of the room to the breakfast in the mornings to all the incredible information provided for things to do in the area. Thanks so much for an anniversary we won't forget!!

Tips:

If wanting to do the Jacobite train, plan at least 3 months out to purchase tickets otherwise, we really enjoyed not having gone on the train but getting to the viaduct ahead of it to get a great photo and then enjoying our leisure traveling around the area of Fort William at our own pace.

B'n'bs are all about their hosts. In Tina and Peter we met the best hosts you could ask for. We can't thank Tina enough for introducing us to her delicious Whisky Porridge for breakfast and Peter for all the wonderful tips for where to go. Every single one of them was really marvelous! Mainly because he had a very good intuition for what we might enjoy. We were even provided detailed maps for the day which were very helpful. Oh and the room was great. It was very cozy and with an amazing view.

A gorgeous B and B with stunning views. We were welcomed by Peter and Tina upon arrival and offered tea and cake (which was delicious). Breakfast was very good quality and everything was locally/responsibly sourced. Peter and Tina were great hosts and had great knowledge of the area. One of the best B and B’s we have stayed in and I can’t wait for our next visit.

Tips:

There is a fantastic seafood restaurant about 25 minutes away (name is in the book in the B and B). We had a fantastic meal here with beautiful fresh seafood.

Beautifully situated B&B. Spotlessly clean. Fabulous choice of breakfasts. Delightful owners who were more than happy to recommend places to visit and tours to do. I can think of nothing that could have improved our stay.

Tina and Peter are really warm and welcoming hosts. Unfortunately our stay was a mere 2 nights but our accommodations were so spacious that we would have been very comfortable staying much longer. Delicious breakfasts and good coffee and even tea and cake upon our arrival was most appreciated. We would highly recommend

Tips:

The Jacobite steam train ride to Mallaig was worth our effort to get to Fort William by train from Edinburgh. We didn't have a car so very limited in our exploring, but the whole area is so beautiful that walking and hiking are a pleasure.

Peter and Tina run a fantastic friendly and stunning bed and breakfast on the edge of Fort William. They greet you with a smile and cuppa & cake on arrival. Great personal service and really nice manner about them both. Breakfast must be tried, as words just won’t do the food justice!! The room and the view was amazing and even better than the website looked. Stay here if you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

Tips:

Tons of pubs and restaurants within a short walk, literally 5 mins to a great pub/restaurant. The shore of the locke is right next to you, if you fancy a walk. If in the Fort William area we highly recommend staying at Huntingtower lodge.

Tips:

Try the porridge, the memory of it will stay with you. A trip to Eilean Donan is not to be missed, the scenery enroute is spectacular. A visit to Clan McDuff a short walk from the Lodge is worth a visit, try the haggis dish its quite special.

You hear people saying its a home from home, but who wants to stay at home? Here you want for not much at all! You have a problem with balancing which bit is best, the amazing quality breakfast, the wonderful little treats you find daily in your room, the mind blowing views from your window, the quality toiletries in your ensuite or its location to Ben Nevis, the Jacobite steam train and Fort William. If you're in the area and need a truly quality place to stay and I mean quality, then look no further! The hosts Chris & Jackie, are what makes this place special! Their warmth, kindness and knowledge only amplify how great this place is. Jackie not only makes the breakfast, with aid of Chris, but also makes all those lovely treats. Amazing couple, amazing place!!

Delicious food, very clean and we were even given lifts into town when we weren't cycling. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Ben Nevis Inn does good hearty food to fill up after a day's hiking. One day we got the ferry over to Trislaig with our bikes and cycled a loop around Ardnamurchen - very quiet, great roads and stunning scenery.
