Chris and Gillian are very welcoming and friendly as well as Harvey their dog the house and grounds are very spacious and the have a superb summer house you can use anytime.Breakfast choice is fresh and some items are home grown you will not be disappointed. The views from the dinning room are spectacular. The whole house is extremely clean.

Tips:

Book restaurants to ensure a table as Fort William is very busy. The Jacobite train is the main attraction again try and book prior to going.

Chris and Gill were fantastic hosts, welcoming us into their home, and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. They gave useful advice before and during our visit.

Tips:

The Lochy pub was convenient, had a good selection of meals and good value. The best meal we had during our stay was at the Old Station in Spean Bridge. Ask Chris about good places to spot the Jacobite Steam Train.

We recently stayed at The Cairnbrook for 2 nights from 21st - 23rd July. We received a very warm welcome from Chris, Gillian and of cause Harvey (the dog). Our room was large, clean and had loads of storage for our things. It was also well stocked with tea and coffee ect. Guests also had the use of a microwave and fridge in the dinning room. Breakfast was very good my wife enjoyed the black pudding and Chris and Gillian's homemade jams (have a look round the garden you'll see all the Blackcurrant and Raspberry bushes ) I chose The Cairnbrook because of its close proximity to Telford's famous Neptune's Staircase which is within walking distance. We will definitely be staying there again in the future.

11th May 2021:

Our family of 5 adults had a lovely weekend at Carinbrook, where the owners, Chris and Gill, were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were well proportioned and well equipped with a guest sitting room downstairs, which had comfortable sofas, and a fridge and tv for the use of guests. The sitting room also serves as the breakfast room, with stunning views across to Ben Nevis and Fort William. Breakfast was great with a wide choice of food, including Gill’s homemade bread and blackcurrant jam. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carinbrook which felt like a more relaxed and intimate experience than a hotel. I think it would be an ideal place for small families or groups.

Tips:

Neptune’s Staircase and The Moorings restaurant are a 5-minute walk away, with the village of Corpach and its pier, iconic shipwreck, and lovely views across the loch less than a mile down the road. The Jacobite engine runs within a hundred yards of the house daily, and Chris is a mine of information, not only about the Jacobite, but also of a host of local and regional amenities. Fort William is less than a 10-minute drive away.

Chris & Gillian were brilliant hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them & they couldn't be more helpful with things to do & their knowledge of the area. They even managed to arrange tickets for us for the Jacobite steam train which was a wonderful experience. The b&b was very clean & breakfast tasty. There was a fridge & microwave for guests which was brilliant for bringing meals back to cook & eat there. Look forward to returning in the future.

Tips:

Ride on the Jacobite steam train. Visit Rhu beach & climb a few Munros.

Warm and friendly atmosphere, good communication both during booking and during our 5 days there, providing great knowledge of the local area and things to do, very conveniently located within minutes of Fort William, but en route to the Isles etc, amazing views from the pleasant garden and room, really nice variety of foods for breakfast, and the most comfortable bed we think we've ever had on holiday!

Tips:

Ask Chris and Gillian, who will tailor suggestions according to what you're keen to do! We enjoyed Glenfinnan (go early if you want a space in the carpark) for the history, walks, train and views; Steall Gorge; the Ben Nevis Inn; the walk in Loch Arkaig woods; afternoon tea at Inverlochy Castle Hotel for a treat; and food at The Lochy in Caol is cheap and cheerful and within walking distance of Carinbrook...

Chris and gillian were fantastic hosts, really couldn't have asked for better accommodation, they had great knowledge of the surrounding areas, and local places to eat, and would definitely go back if up there again, and fab breakfast.

Other travellers should really consider spending a day exploring the Caledonian canal walkways and then eating at the lochy pub and restaurant along the path towards Neptune's Staircase.

Tips:

Moorings hotel within walking distance does good meals and is located right next to Neptune's Staircase on the Caledonian Canal. The Jacobite steam train from Fort William is a lovely trip and well worth doing (you need to book in advance to ensure a place).

2nd September 2019:

Very friendly and helpful hosts with well positioned property. Room was smart and clean with good sized, modern en-suite. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was plentiful and sitting with a great view of Ben Nevis has got to be a good start to the day! Separate lounge for use by guests and able to eat our own food there in the evening. Plenty of parking and being in walking distance of the two nearby railway stations meant we didn't have to use it whilst staying. Great advantage. we will use again, thank you.

Tips:

Walking distance to Neptune's staircase on Caledonian canal or to the start of it and the lochside at Corpach. Can walk to station and catch train to Arisaig or Mallaig for day out. In the other direction it takes you into Fort William and all its attractions. Walking distance to The Moorings for a Bistro or Restaurant or to the local Co-op store in the other direction.

Absolutely fabulous! In October last year, when I gave my husband a trip to Scotland as a birthday present, I didn't have a clue where we would go. We often book accommodations through Booking.com, but when we started looking this spring, many were already fully-booked, so instead I started checking Google maps, and found Carinbrook! What a strike of luck! Chris and Gillian (and Harvey, their dog) are absolutely fabulous! Kind, fun to talk to, extremely helpful, genuinely interested in meeting people and they also make great breakfasts; homemade bread, blackcurrant jam, porridge, bacon, eggs etc. We stayed 6 nights, and I wouldn't have minded staying a couple more! We're already talking about when to visit Scotland, and stay at Carinbrook, again!

Tips:

Stay more than 2 nights! A good place to have lunch or dinner, or a snack, is The Moorings Bistro and Café at the hotel with the same name. We went there four times during our week, even in our hiking gear! We liked the kind staff and relaxing atmosphere!

Chris and Gillian are wonderful hosts and know so much about places to visit-some that tourists wouldn't even ever know about! After my climb up Ben Nevis I was achy and sore. Gillian was very kind and offered me a hot bath and a hot water bottle which was so thoughtful. We felt very much at home in their home and would love to stay again. Thank you for making my first visit to Scotland so enjoyable and catering to our needs.

Tips:

Ben Nevis inn was a lovely place to get a meal but do book beforehand as it gets very busy with hungry climbers. The Moorings Hotel that Chris and Gillian recommended to us was also very nice but not somewhere to visit in your hiking stuff. It's a very short walk from Carinbrook so there is plenty of time to get changed for dinner.
